From the recording Feeless You
Winter Sun, bright and cold light. Snows covers the land and everything is stilled by a cosmic contraction. Like in the moment of becoming a new corpse the movement that priorly inhabited it continues toward that which exists beyond what is granted by sensible reality...the unseen, unheard... the warmth is gone but the light remains somewhere and is still in movement. So this song is an attempt to express this process. The idea behind all is that the unseen light is the individual in the form of an idea that as it sheds off all the un-ideal aspects that darkened, it becomes brighter and purer.
Grant Butler played and wrote the cello line and worked along with me (Juan Carlos) late into many week nights to have it as we wanted it.
Amazing piano player Barbara Hudgik gifted her time and talent to enrich this song with her musical grace.
Lyrics
Winter Sun
Ride on a cloud
Pure Light and unbowed
All weight left on earth
Straight line, a new birth
Are they mourning
Their loved one?
Are you merging
With this winter sun?
I don't know if you'll be seen again
Redo who you were
No voice to demur
Would your memory
Still be one?
Would you reject
This winter sun?
I don't know if I'll see you again
Go unafraid
Firm gaze, now angels' cade
